Speaker 1:

Seth Jackson and Amber Wright. Their romance had stirred up some powerful emotions. Welcome to this episode of Human Wreckage. We will be talking about the tragic ending of Seth Jackson, just 15 years old. The way the teens act in the police interview video will amaze you or piss you off. Let's get into it. They were both 14 when they'd started dating and for a few months they'd been inseparable. But when their relationship turned sour, they used social media to publicly lash out at each other. Behind the bravado. Seth was heartbroken, so when Amber suggested they try to work things out, he jumped at the chance. But as he headed to meet her, trusting Seth walked straight into a trap so depraved its shocked America to its core.

Speaker 1:

Seth Jackson, 15, lived in rural Bellevue, florida, known as the city with small town charm. It was a religious community where older residents relish the quiet and the youngsters struggled to find fun. Seth was a bright young lad who grew up climbing trees, riding his BMX and skateboarding, but as he got older he turned his attention to hanging out with his friends and finding a girlfriend. At 14, he started dating Amber Wright and he fell for the pretty redhead. She was confident with a big circle of friends. In early March 2011,. They were both 15 and Seth confessed his love for Amber on Facebook. Then, just weeks later, the pair broke up. Amber accused Seth of being unfaithful, and their arguments spilled out onto social media. In April, amber wrote on Facebook I got so tired of you treating me like I was nothing. If you're so perfect, why don't you get over your jealousy and get a new girl you can hurt? You know I care deeply about you. I stuck with you through a lot of stuff. It takes a real man to accept the fact he got broken up with. Seth responded with we both need to just let all of this go. Yeah, we split. Yeah, it hurt, but I'm over it. I'm just not going to let Mike have his cake and eat it too.

Speaker 1:

Mike was Michael Bargo, amber's new boyfriend, and he was about to take their bickering to a whole new level. Seth didn't think Mike was good enough for Amber, and Michael, 18, developed a hatred for Seth that led to a truly barbaric act. On April 17, 2011, amber sent Seth a series of text messages asking him to meet her so they could work things out. Seth was with friends who thought there was something up with her change of heart. Even Seth thought it was suspicious and replied saying he was worried about getting jumped, but he'd been more cut up by the breakup than he'd let on. So he agreed to go and see her.

Speaker 1:

That night he went to the rural trailer home of Amber's female friend, charlie Ealy, then 18, in nearby Summerfield. As he walked through the front door he was ambushed. Amber and Michael lay in wait with Amber's stepbrother, kyle Hooper, then 17, and a friend, justin Soto, then 20. Amber and Charlie stood by as Seth was beaten over the head with wooden objects Outnumbered 5 to 1, seth didn't stand a chance. Michael had a gun and shot Seth, but the bullet didn't kill him. Terrified, seth tried to run, but he was pulled back and Michael shot him again.

Speaker 1:

Seth was thrown into the bathtub and when he still showed signs of life, michael fired another bullet into his beaten body. The pack of teens broke Seth's knees so they could hogtie him and stuff his body inside a sleeping bag. They hauled him outside into a backyard fire pit and set him on fire. Neighbors would later recall seeing terrifyingly high flames when Seth was just ash and bone fragments, they shoveled his remains into paint cans and threw them into a nearby quarry before cleaning the crime scene with bleach. When Seth didn't come home, his mom reported him missing. Then Kyle confessed to his mom that he'd watched Seth being killed and she reported it to the police. It didn't take long for officers to link the murder to the five youngsters, and the community were left in shock that a teenage love triangle could end in such violence.

Speaker 2:

Mike's in the bag picking teeth from his skull and playing with his tongue. He's all sick and everything.

Speaker 3:

I want my mommy. I want my mommy.

Speaker 2:

He kept on punching him and shooting him and I had to grab him like this to pull him back and I told him to stop.

Speaker 4:

You give me people who are gonna f***ing hate us for this, f***ing hate my life.

Speaker 5:

This is how I feel, oh my god man, you can sit right there, that's fine. Thank you. That's kind of why we have the chairs set up.

Speaker 6:

So what's the issue?

Speaker 5:

What's the issue? You know what I have a feeling you're gonna tell me. Okay, listen, I want you to understand something Uh-huh. Okay, I don't know what you do or don't know. You're not in trouble with me. Okay, but this is extremely important. Are you from around here?

Speaker 6:

Like I've lived here for a while, but I'm from Hawaii.

Speaker 5:

You're from Hawaii. Where here have you lived? I mean, how long have you been living here?

Speaker 6:

Since I was about 12 years old, 11, 12 years old, a few years, so you've been here a while.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, I've been here a while let's talk about your tattoos a little bit, do you mind? Yeah, I don't mind. Okay, what's it say on the front?

Speaker 6:

This says head bust on it.

Speaker 5:

What is that? H-s-a-o.

Speaker 6:

H-E-E-A-D. Yeah, this is my last one. I have a musher right here.

Speaker 5:

Oh, that's a new one, isn't it?

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, what are all the scratches about?

Speaker 6:

I mean I was walking through the woods and some vines got a hold of it and like three or four vines wrapped around my leg and I went to go walking and it just Any others. No, that's it. That's it Okay.

Speaker 5:

You don't have anything in your bag and your arms? No, wow, that's different. Usually that's where they put them all. Are you cold or something?

Speaker 6:

Yeah, I've been sick for like almost two weeks now. Well, I'm not really sick anymore. I just got this crazy bun and cough and it aggravates me.

Speaker 5:

I understand that you guys were, you know, in a crowd. I, you know I'm older, so I'm going to say kids, yeah, Hanging out together, okay. I hear that you know. Tempers flew, okay and things happened. What are you doing Sunday night? What's?

Speaker 6:

today Tuesday.

Speaker 7:

Today is Tuesday.

Speaker 5:

Do you know why you're here?

Speaker 3:

I really don't Tell me how you ended up here.

Speaker 6:

I woke up this morning to Charlie waking me up and there was officer right there and I'm here now.

Speaker 5:

Okay, so you just got in a car and you didn't ask any questions like what do you want? Why am I here? Nothing.

Speaker 1:

You didn't ask anything?

Speaker 5:

Oh, come on, let me just walk with that.

Speaker 6:

I'm not waiting, but I didn't do nothing. I mean, I was just coming over here to see what the hell is going on.

Speaker 5:

Because I woke up, but you even said it yourself. Okay, you're nervous about places like this? Okay. So there's no way you're going to sit there and tell me that you got into a police car. Okay, and ask no questions as to why you're getting into a police car after being woken up, but you said, an incident happened. Okay, with who?

Speaker 6:

Oh, my guess Frickin' something about some kid that I don't even know who the hell he is. Yeah, you do what was it, his name is Seth or something like that, and supposedly I guess he got shot or whatever.

Speaker 4:

Okay.

Speaker 6:

That's all I know. Like the girls, I guess they went to go meet up with him or something, and what girls? Charlie and the other ones.

Speaker 4:

I don't like this room. I'm about to go crazy.

Speaker 8:

How are you Good? How do you go crazy? How do you go crazy? Yeah, I can't. I can't move at all. Okay, we don't need that. I'm Detective Bill with the Sheriff's Office. Charlie, charlie, what's your last name? Charlie?

Speaker 4:

Ailey, ailey, ailey. Okay, how you doing.

Speaker 8:

How are you? 18 years of life, okay, do you know why you're here? Yes, sir, why are you here?

Speaker 4:

Because something happened with.

Speaker 8:

Seth. Something happened with Seth, okay, all right. Understand that we had a deputy bring you down here because of what may have happened with Seth. Okay, there's an investigation that we're gonna investigate. Already explained to me what you think. Why are you here? Okay, I'm your one. Explain to me why you're here. Have you honest with me, totally truthful? Hold your head up.

Speaker 4:

Okay, sunday night yes, sunday night Amber and I walked up because her boyfriend or ex-boyfriend was Seth and they wanted to help themselves. We met them up this is. Sunday night. Yes, sir, at 58th Court, it was approximately 9.30.

Speaker 8:

So you met them on the corner.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, okay, they talked what corner.

Speaker 8:

Did you guys meet them on?

Speaker 4:

I think it's 58th Court. I want to say that's what it is. Then who all met there? Me, Amber and Seth.

Speaker 7:

I introduced myself. We won't run any wrong, okay, and I'm gonna. I'm gonna talk to you about this, okay, okay, I just need you to tell me the story, and let's start with the other night. I understand that you and Charlie went to another neighborhood or went down the street. Tell me how this all comes.

Speaker 4:

I haven't already talking on the phone, me and him Seth.

Speaker 7:

Okay, you and Seth. Did Seth call you or did you call Seth?

Speaker 4:

Well, he had called me a couple days before that and I didn't answer. Okay, I called him that night.

Speaker 7:

And you and Seth, and, correctly, if I'm wrong, okay, you two had had a relationship, was he? How was your relationship with him?

Speaker 4:

Not the best.

Speaker 7:

Tell me why you say not the best.

Speaker 4:

We'd always fight. He'd always hit me and hit on me, and all that.

Speaker 7:

So he was physically abusive to you, who all knew that?

Speaker 4:

Me, Charlie, my brother.

Speaker 7:

Okay, so Kyle knew about it. Was it were there a lot of people in the neighborhood just that ran around with you guys that knew this? Yeah, because your mom, I understand, knew it Okay. So Seth had called you a few days before you called him back. And what day was that?

Speaker 4:

I think it was Sunday night.

Speaker 7:

Sunday night.

Speaker 4:

It was the night that this all happened.

Speaker 7:

Okay, so you called Seth, and what did Seth say?

Speaker 4:

Well, I started off, I was like hey, I know you called me the other day and I didn't answer, but you wanted to make up. So do you want to make up? Or like try and be friends or something, because I'm sorry for everything. And he was like yeah, I think they'd be a good idea for the both of us, because we're both tired of fighting with each other, but we just wanted to stop the drama.

Speaker 7:

So were you guys going to get back together as a couple?

Speaker 4:

No, we were just going to try and be friends. Okay, because we were friends before we were dated. Okay, we were really close.

Speaker 7:

Okay.

Speaker 4:

And he was like Well, you should walk down here. And I was like, well, if I walk down there, I'm not walking alone because it's too dark. So can my friend Charlie come? And he was like, sure, I guess.

Speaker 7:

Where was Seth at when he said Walk down here?

Speaker 4:

Um the neighborhood at the end of my road, bellevue Ridge estates.

Speaker 7:

Okay, so Seth was at Bellevue Ridge. Whose house was he at down there?

Speaker 4:

He said something about Brighton A so you guys went down there and talked. We were talking for maybe like not even 30 minutes and his mom, I guess, texted him and I was like Hurry texting us out, we're talking. And he was like my mom told me either right now or never. And I was like, okay, I guess they started arguing or whatever. And then he looked at me.

Speaker 7:

He's like they arguing with his mom for the text.

Speaker 4:

I guess he called her a bit or whatever. I didn't want to get in it. And then he was like Look, I'm not in the mood to talk right now. I'm getting out of here for now. I'll see you around. And he, he just stormed off. So when he stormed off we put back to my house and about an hour later he came to my house. Mike was often as room, like he always is. Okay, he never comes out.

Speaker 7:

So he had no idea he went to see Seth or that you came back from seeing Seth that you're aware of.

Speaker 4:

I didn't tell him.

Speaker 7:

Okay, and Kyle's in the living room. What's Kyle doing?

Speaker 4:

Kyle just sits there and watch TV, like he always does, okay, so he's just watching TV in the living room, mike's in the bedroom.

Speaker 7:

Okay, and then what happens? Seth comes to the house.

Speaker 4:

Locked on the door and tried to get to it and she was like, well, what do you want? And he was like I just need to talk to Amber. Can I come in?

Speaker 5:

I don't know what it is you're being careful about. Okay, and I. It's okay to be careful, okay, but the truth is what it is Okay, and that's what I need from you.

Speaker 6:

That's pretty much what it is. I don't. I don't know the kid. I know he's a little white boy and him and one of the girls used to date, or whatever. And which girl? Amber girl.

Speaker 5:

Well, you just told me more than you told me a few minutes ago. How do you know Amber as a friend? How did you meet her?

Speaker 6:

Through her brother Kyle. The other do that to him.

Speaker 5:

Okay, all right. So is Kyle, the other one that lives with you, yeah, okay. Well then now I know you know more than you're saying, because you know he just moved into. I know You're making me think that maybe you had some involvement in all of this, did you? No ma'am, do you have any involvement in any of this? No, ma'am, no. Where'd you get the scratches from on your legs?

Speaker 6:

Vines walking to the woods.

Speaker 5:

Because they're very, very fresh scratches.

Speaker 6:

When did you get those. Yesterday I was walking to the wood tests today, yesterday, mm-hmm.

Speaker 5:

What woods were you walking through?

Speaker 6:

In my old neighborhood where I was going to talk to the dude about the tree job. Okay, what name of it is that? Does that have a name? It's behind a church, a big church.

Speaker 5:

I work in the woods too, you know, and I don't get scratched up like that.

Speaker 6:

No, they have like little. What are those called thorns or whatever on them? Okay, and they're up there on my leg.

Speaker 5:

Let me see your other leg. Yeah, you're pretty scratched up. That's not from a walk through the woods, sure it is. No, Talk to me.

Speaker 6:

Justin, that's what happened. That's woods.

Speaker 5:

Oh, I believe it's woods yeah. I believe that I have no doubt it could be that, but that's not from walking through the woods. Yeah, okay, so you were in the running, walking in the dark, I don't know anything about what happened.

Speaker 6:

I just came home and I went to sleep.

Speaker 7:

Did Seth call you before he came down.

Speaker 3:

No, ma'am.

Speaker 7:

So he just showed up an hour later? Yeah, when you came back, did you talk to your brother or Michael about what Seth had said, or that you guys had a conversation? Did they know?

Speaker 4:

No, they didn't know what we talked about.

Speaker 7:

Okay.

Speaker 4:

Kyle has been almost going and I was like I'm going to talk to Seth and try and figure things out. I hear knock at the door. It's Seth, so I let him in, not thinking anything. The drawing was it?

Speaker 8:

Okay. Can you draw me a drawing of your house. I just want to try to get a picture of what exactly she let him in.

Speaker 4:

He sits in the chair, me and her sitting by each other on the couch and I don't know where. Kyle just gets up and hits him.

Speaker 8:

So were they arguing first before you get me.

Speaker 4:

No, amber and Seth were talking and Kyle comes out of nowhere and hits him and me, and Amber dart to my room.

Speaker 6:

And.

Speaker 4:

Kyle said get the fuck out, and he went out that way and we hear Mike's door hit something and Mike came out and we heard gunshots. Okay, and by then me and Charlie took off. We shut the bathroom door. Then we heard another door just fly open and we just heard gunshot after gunshot, after gunshot, and after maybe like five or six times of hearing it, it got quiet. And then you hear Kyle go what did you just do?

Speaker 7:

How do you think Michael knew Seth was out there?

Speaker 4:

He probably heard him talk.

Speaker 7:

Okay, so it's one of them things where it's not that far apart, yeah the house is small.

Speaker 4:

He would know Seth's voice. Yeah, okay, if we said anything to anyone, he would kill us.

Speaker 8:

So this is after the gunshot. Yeah, he came back into the house. Yeah, with the gun and he was waving it around.

Speaker 4:

What kind of gun was it? It was revolver, Okay. I mean, he's like it's like touch it and shit. I don't really know. Like I just heard a bunch of shit, Like like he was okay, Document that.

Speaker 8:

Now, did you hear any voices or anything?

Speaker 3:

No, I heard it was.

Speaker 8:

Mike's voice. Okay, and what did you hear Mike saying?

Speaker 4:

This is what you f***ing get.

Speaker 7:

So when did you guys finally come out of the room? The? Next morning Was anything different?

Speaker 4:

Oh, it just smelled like pure bleach in my house. That's it.

Speaker 7:

Do you know where the bleach came from?

Speaker 4:

No, I had a bottle of bleach on the counter, but that's not there.

Speaker 8:

So you had bleach and it's gone now.

Speaker 4:

Mm-hmm and Mike came into the room and he said I swear, if you guys open your mouth about anything about last night, I'm gonna come after you guys. He said I gotta go, I'm going somewhere.

Speaker 8:

Okay, and he left.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, he said I'm going somewhere, I'll be back later. And me and he ever went up to my friend Chris's house for Did you look around your house or anything?

Speaker 8:

To see what you had to be curious about something, right, I was looking around but I didn't see anything Like.

Speaker 4:

I didn't see really anything, I mean my. The only thing that I really noticed was in my bathroom, my shower doors not my bathroom, but the guest bathroom shower doors were down.

Speaker 7:

Where was Michael the next day when you got up?

Speaker 4:

Mm-hmm Did you.

Speaker 5:

Did you see him?

Speaker 4:

No, he just went and come out of his room and then me and Charlie left and we were up at her friend's house until maybe four. What time did you call me? I don't know, maybe a day or two, okay, so.

Speaker 7:

Michael was in the house, though, when you woke up in the morning. Yes, ma'am.

Speaker 8:

Justin Soto. Was he there when this happened?

Speaker 4:

I didn't see him anywhere, like I don't think he was there. I think he was talking about going and talking to someone in another neighborhood about a job that he has to do, like next week.

Speaker 5:

What have you heard about Seth?

Speaker 6:

Tell me everything you've heard about Seth. I think he used to date Amber and I guess I don't know. It's pretty much. I guess he had some problems with some other kid, and what kind of problem, like they were just like talking noise to each other and who? Um, I don't even know. Like, there you go, who? Well, I think his name is Mike.

Speaker 5:

Actually, I don't know if you remember I had faith in you.

Speaker 6:

When did you first meet Mike. It was like oh, I met him like two years ago.

Speaker 5:

I'm sure Mike's going to talk For what's best for Mike, so Justin needs to tell me what's going on and think about what's best for Justin. Yeah, I left yesterday.

Speaker 6:

That's pretty much what happened.

Speaker 5:

Did you meet with Mike?

Speaker 6:

No.

Speaker 5:

He was with anybody else, Alright? Well, listen, give me a few minutes and I'll be right back.

Speaker 7:

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, buddy, do you mind if I talk to her again? Okay, I'm going to bring Kyle in here with you, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, I'm going to go.

Speaker 2:

Alright, okay, all of your kids are in there. Number two yeah, what do?

Speaker 5:

you mean Well, we told you it wasn't a storm.

Speaker 2:

I mean it was like everything was planned, what for which everybody, Everybody. It took my phone, Everything was gone. James is on it too On what?

Speaker 4:

What is it on this? So sorry about that, it was wrong.

Speaker 7:

I want to be perfectly honest with you. Okay, this is how I work. I'm giving you an opportunity right now to lie to me. Okay, if you take that opportunity, okay, you're a fool. Everything that comes out of your little mouth right now better be 110% the truth. Okay, alright, now let's start back at the beginning of this, and this is your one and only last chance to correct any discrepancies you may have of the story that you told me. Okay, want to start fresh? No, I'm scared. I'm scared.

Speaker 2:

Kyle, I'm sure you are okay. I don't want to do this. I don't want to go through like this. I don't even know if this happened. Okay, but you know what, kyle Right now is the time to man up.

Speaker 7:

Right now is where the rubber meets the road. Okay, I can't do nothing for you. I can't, even I can't do nothing. I can't talk to you if you're not going to tell me the truth. So let's start at the beginning. Okay, Just you and I here, just start at the beginning. Tell me what really happened.

Speaker 2:

He dropped me off, alright. Well, we got this kid that comes over here. He plays a guitar. Brandon, yeah, he plays a guitar, he's got long hair, he's in a band, and so with that, that comes over to Charlie's house. Yeah, he doesn't play his guitar. And well, he was out there playing the guitar and so with that, out in the front yard and everything Mike he was, he was like getting all into it. He went to the house. I guess he was snorting some pills or whatever. He was playing the pills for me I'm not sure there were white pills. What did he get? He didn't tell me. He didn't say anything to stuff I don't know. He don't tell me nothing about stuff like that, honestly. So he's snorting some pills and so on. Yeah, he's getting all fired up, hyped up and everything. Somebody brought up the nameset and he's like man, I want to go and kill him tonight. He's like I just want to, and he's like you guys down. And I told him no, that's all I'm gonna want.

Speaker 7:

He said you guys down, who's he talking to you and your mom?

Speaker 2:

me Amber Charlie Roach. Who's Roach now? Oh, the guy, Justin Soto.

Speaker 7:

So Soto was there.

Speaker 5:

Yes, ma'am, I know you were there, I know about what you did, I know that you participated and I want to know exactly what you did, so that I don't blame you for something you didn't do, because everybody else is Alright.

Speaker 6:

Blaming me.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, wow, yeah, wow. I know what happened to Seth. Okay, so floor is yours. Question is is Roach gonna look out for Roach or is Roach gonna not look out for him and let him take the fall for everybody else?

Speaker 6:

Well, since you put it that way, this is what happens to him.

Speaker 7:

Will you talk about killing baby? We talk about killing.

Speaker 2:

Seth, we kill him so much because he was like man I know, because he's like, all you gotta do is find him and kill him and lay down here and everything like that. And he didn't want Amber to call him off from the phone or text him. He didn't want nothing to happen or Charlie to have nothing to do with it.

Speaker 7:

Why does Michael not like Seth? Because he likes Amber. Yeah, okay, so he's. Have you ever dated? Michael?

Speaker 4:

We've never dated, but we've always had a thing for each other. Okay.

Speaker 2:

But, never, dated. So Amber decided and she agreed to it.

Speaker 7:

You'd rather tell me everything.

Speaker 3:

Okay.

Speaker 7:

So you can sit there and you can continue to lie. I'm gonna get a walk out and treat you like a piece of garbage. Or you can sit here and treat me with the respect that I treated you with. Okay, and you can tell me the truth.

Speaker 4:

Yes, ma'am.

Speaker 7:

What's your choice gonna be?

Speaker 4:

I'm gonna get the truth.

Speaker 7:

Okay, speak up so I can hear you too. Okay, all right. So let's start at the beginning again. Tell me the story. And the first time that I think you're lying, I'm getting up and walking out of here and I don't care what happens to you. Yes, ma'am, do you understand me? Yes, ma'am.

Speaker 4:

Okay, james and Brandon both left. After Brandon was playing guitar and everything. They both left and Mike was talking to Charlie and Kyle and me. He was like you should call Seth and I was like for what he's like you're gonna make up with him. I was like for what he's like because I'm gonna kill him and I was like why he's like he's not tired of that. So I went into the front foot of Charlie and I called him. We've talked to Kyle.

Speaker 8:

Okay, and Kyle has told us his new version of the story. Okay, he's from. At this point, he's been totally cooperative. Okay, I know there's some things that transpired prior to. I know there was some conversations prior to about something happening.

Speaker 4:

I wasn't involved in that. I don't know what he's talking about. I mean, it might have been between him and Mike, but I don't know.

Speaker 8:

Kyle is already in. I'll be honest with you has implemented you and being involved in knowing or having knowledge to this thing transpiring prior to it happening.

Speaker 4:

But I didn't.

Speaker 8:

This, this, what does it make sense to me? You're telling me that you guys are in this house. You drew out a diagram for me of your house where everybody was sitting at the C is for me, the A is for him, the K is for Kyle, the S is for, and then Mike was in his room, allegedly correct. Okay, who else was at this house that you did not put in there?

Speaker 4:

Um Roche was there, but he wasn't there when that happened.

Speaker 8:

Yes, he was.

Speaker 4:

I didn't see him.

Speaker 8:

And you say that he just unannounced himself and just came to the house. Is that correct?

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 8:

No one told him to come to the house. No, how did he come to that house? Because I'm telling you right now there's a different story in that other room.

Speaker 4:

I mean he walked.

Speaker 8:

I mean I understand he probably walked where he's told his left foot and his right foot one in front of the other, and he physically came to the house. This is where you need to be truthful with me. You need to be truthful with me Because right now you're beating at the bush, okay, and you're not being truthful with me, can? We both agree on that yeah.

Speaker 7:

I want to die. Take deep breath. You're doing really well About time.

Speaker 2:

So I mean, it's okay, I really hated Seth and there was time because my ex-girlfriend I found him in the bed with my ex-girlfriend and I really didn't like that and I loved her. But I really didn't want to go out and kill the kid. It wasn't my intention. And he told me Well, mike was talking about it. He was like Listen, he's like I'll do it and, believe it or not, amber wanted it done. Amber don't want nothing to do with him. Amber wanted him dead and gone. He deserved it. I wanted him dead, but I didn't want to do it and I didn't want nothing to be a part of it.

Speaker 2:

I didn't want nothing but, and Mike said he would do it. Well, mike said he would do it, so he talked to Mike about it. And he kept on saying man, I'll take the blame for it, I'll take the blame for everything. I'll do it. I'll do everything. I'll take the blame If the cops ask you. If anything, I'll take the blame. I have nothing to lose. It's whatever. Amber agreed to it. Everybody was agreeing to it. So did Soto agree. Huh, soto Roach. Everybody agreed, everybody agreed.

Speaker 7:

Amber agreed, mm-hmm. And Jay Charlie agreed. Mike said he would do it and you agreed, so there's five people.

Speaker 2:

There's more, okay. And Mike's like man, I can't do this, it's gotta be done now. He's like wait, mickey, he's not, he's sitting in the love seat. He's like it's gotta be done now. He, Mike, opened the door. I come out. I hit him over the stick with the head when was Seth when he had he was in the chair, okay. And I hit him over the head with the stick and it broke three times on him.

Speaker 8:

At no time did you ever say, when Kyle hit Seth across the head with this stick board or whatever this object was, what the hell are you doing? What's going on? If you didn't know what was going on, you see the picture I'm painting now. Obviously, you had to know what was going on. Okay, because any person in their right mind would have asked this question. If you and I are sitting in this room and whoever's sitting over here and I just start beating the hell out of him, aren't?

Speaker 1:

you going to?

Speaker 8:

look what's going on. You never said that you know why. You know why? Yeah, why.

Speaker 4:

So you don't mean what happened Exactly.

Speaker 2:

I hit him and he stood up when I broke it over his head three times. He stood up and then broke Come in and then he hit him with his stick and he was, and then he was trying to go through the kitchen and Mike shot him in the back twice with a gun.

Speaker 4:

Kyle hit Seth with a thing and I flew against the counter and I went.

Speaker 7:

Roach and I was a stick to him.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I didn't look at it. I was in the kitchen and all I was seeing was Seth fly and then Kyle Roach flew and Mike flew right behind him and Charlie was like come in the room, come in the room, come in the room.

Speaker 3:

When Kyle went over the head, that's when we ran into the room because we didn't know where Mike was.

Speaker 4:

Like we thought he was in his room and obviously that's where he was, but like we didn't know where he was with the gun, Okay.

Speaker 2:

And then he was still trying to go out, he was still trying to go out the front door and Mike just kept on shooting him. I kept on telling Mike I was like, stop it, stop it, let him go, let him go, mike. And he just kept on shooting him. And he goes out, he goes out the house, I goes a get out of the way. And Mike popped it out and Roach grabs him like this and Seth on the ground and he has a throat and I don't know what he did to his knee, but he kind of messed up his knee and he rolled. Roach rolled over. Who messed up his knee? Roach so. And he rolled over and Mike come up and shot him in the head and that's what it was over.

Speaker 5:

Mike shoot him. How many times? Five times maybe, I guess, right there on the spot.

Speaker 2:

And Mike's like man, grab him, grab him, you gotta grab him. Call him again Nobody, you gotta grab him. And I was scared, I was freaking out and I'm like okay, okay, okay, and I grabbed him, pulled him up the stairs and grabbed him and Seth, I started pulling him up the stairs. Seth's still alive Partially, yeah, so he was still breathing at that time. He was partially still alive.

Speaker 4:

I walked in the room with Roach. I was so shook and up. I'm staring at him. I'm crying. She's trying to hold me to stop crying. I'm about to puke from it all.

Speaker 3:

And then they got him in the house and played him on the floor.

Speaker 2:

And then they put him in the back and then Roach come in and he helped put him in the bathtub.

Speaker 5:

Did you help put Seth in the bathtub?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I grabbed a little piece of him and just put him in there, and then Dr Zmonell, and then when he was in the bathtub, Mike kept on getting on psycho and pissed and kept on punching him and shooting him and I had to grab him like this to pull him back and I told him to stop. I said, listen, you need to stop right now. And then I come in and then Mike's trying to break his kneecaps.

Speaker 7:

Is he dead at this point?

Speaker 5:

Yeah, he's completely dead. Who broke his legs and knees.

Speaker 6:

I think Mike did it.

Speaker 2:

And that's when Mike had his kneecap, had his leg pulled out like this with some in his hand, some hard trying to break his kneecap.

Speaker 5:

How'd you get the scratch marks on your legs? Fighting with Seth?

Speaker 6:

No, I didn't.

Speaker 5:

I told him to put steelwoods and stuff Finding firewood Finding firewood To burn up Seth.

Speaker 6:

I guess yeah.

Speaker 3:

And then Mike was like Roach, get him in the bathroom. And then Charlie was like Amber, don't walk out there, don't walk out there, we don't need to see it. That's when Mike walked in the room with his kind of mid-hand and he was like I love you both, but if you say anything I'll kill you both.

Speaker 2:

22. 22. Okay, 22 revolvers, all black. Where is it at right now? It's under the house, in the air duct. That's where the gun's at right now. That's where the gun is supposed to be at right now that you guys have yeah, everything got burned. Then he hard tied them, then he put them in the bag. In what bag? Like I said, that sleeping bag.

Speaker 5:

Okay, so after the bathtub they put them in some blue thingy that you said Like a bag or something Okay.

Speaker 6:

He was brought up there.

Speaker 5:

Who brought them out? Mike and Soto. It says Mike and Soto.

Speaker 6:

They brought them out there first, and I just dragged them a little bit.

Speaker 2:

We had these two tires. The rubber was supposed to I guess what Mike said was supposed to overdo the smell of the burnt body, something like that. So Where'd you get the tires? The tires were already in the front yard. They come off some car or something. Then I come out there and Roach was telling me something about the shovel. I guess he hit him over the head with a shovel or something because he was still in Mike's cycle. He's crazy. The guy is completely dead and he's still hit.

Speaker 5:

You and Mike stayed out there and watched the body burn in the fire. I stayed out there. You stayed out there by yourself.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, much of the time.

Speaker 5:

Thank you. I appreciate you being honest about that. Okay, so I guess it was your job to make sure the body burned, yeah.

Speaker 2:

I just wondered if it was going to be over. We're just going around there. Mike's in the back picking teeth from his skull and playing with his tongue. He's all sick and everything. He's putting them into the containers with paint and everything, the ashes and everything.

Speaker 3:

Who's helping?

Speaker 2:

him do that At that point. He was just doing everything by himself at that point because everybody just said, f***, we're done.

Speaker 5:

Where is Seth right now? Where is all of his body parts?

Speaker 6:

It's um somewhere in Ocala.

Speaker 5:

Where.

Speaker 8:

Oh, it's some rock ory thing or whatever it's out, you brush your teeth, right? Yeah, you know what toothpaste looks like, right.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 8:

You ever mashed it. Yeah, you ever try to put it back in there. I can't go back in.

Speaker 3:

I want my mommy under the.

Speaker 8:

Can't go back in can't no what were you thinking I was scared?

Speaker 7:

What were you scared of? There was no. There was no threat at the time, oh the scary way, but there was no threat at the time. Seth wasn't even there. So what I mean? What are you being afraid of? Seth wasn't even there. There was nothing for Mike. Mike, you said, mike told me, I love you both.

Speaker 3:

He would never do anything to hurt you yeah. What were you thinking about getting Seth?

Speaker 4:

up there, I wasn't thinking about that at the time Did you just hate Seth that bad?

Speaker 7:

I didn't hate him, I was hurt. Does your mom know that? What do you think your mom's going to say when you?

Speaker 2:

Does your mom know this true story? I don't know.

Speaker 7:

She knows what I talk. What do you think mom's going to say I don't, I just don't want to get in the wrong shit.

Speaker 6:

I didn't want to get in the shit, I just wanted just to get my life together. I was planning on going to the military and everything but oh, it's fucking out of the picture now.

Speaker 5:

But my life.

Speaker 3:

Why didn't you just Let?

Speaker 5:

me ask you this you know you're telling me you wanted to get your life straight. This, that, the other.

Speaker 1:

I don't want to, you know that's all bullshit, because if you wanted to get your life, straight.

Speaker 5:

You know what you would have done. You would have not participated in this and you would have called the cops and said this is what's about to happen to this kid. You gave no regard to another person's life. Why didn't you call 911? I don't call 911. You don't call 911?.

Speaker 6:

I don't like you no more.

Speaker 5:

But you let a person die Because that's the honorable thing to do.

Speaker 2:

I don't want to never make this kid man who Silly. Who else didn't meet Mike? That too. What is going on? I don't know. I've never seen him, I've never seen him.

Speaker 8:

Can your mom come up?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I had to Thank you. We were lying. Take your mom's purse. Yeah, they should leave it. No, Fantastic. So you've interviewed Amber Charlie and now you can't. Now You're lying to me. I'm sorry, guys.

Speaker 3:

He's not going to wait for me. I was going to get a f***ing verify.

Speaker 4:

I am too, because I'm actually going to an actual jail and then an actual prison is no like juvenile, I'll probably be going to jail.

Speaker 3:

You can't get this to me.

Speaker 4:

Yep, it can try on me as an adult. I'm sorry, I've been talking about the cigarette, so where's Rush now? And I even said if they don't do anything, if they don't do anything about that with us, then we're going to have to watch our backs. Where would my With anybody.

Speaker 4:

You know how many people are going to f***ing hate us for this? People that don't even know us are going to be looking for us if we get out of this. Why there's a f***ing 15-year-old kid murdered Because of us? You honestly think people want to be around, do you think people think those kind of people are supposed to be here? Yeah, but it's not our fault. Hell, I don't even like the f***ing kind of people, and I'm one of them now.

Speaker 2:

I don't even.

Speaker 7:

I don't even do anything this guy Amber, where are the clothes that you had?

Speaker 2:

on that Sunday. Can you tell us anything? What's gonna happen to her? Yes, I sure can.

Speaker 7:

I know well, just in one second, just let me go back and tell them what she said. What shirt did you have on? This is the story. You're an adult, correct? Juvenile and juvenile, correct. All right, you two are under 18 and you're 18. You're all gonna be booked with first degree premeditated murder. You two will go to the juvenile assessment center. You will go to the Marion County jail. Okay.

Speaker 4:

Take a deep breath.

Speaker 7:

You'll have no bond. You won't be getting out. I'm gonna get out of here. Oh honey, this is not. Listen to me. Everybody, just take a deep breath.

Speaker 3:

Like oh, we really did. No, no, no see, but you did, but you did.

Speaker 7:

Let's, first of all, let's get over that home right now. Okay, that we really didn't do anything because everybody's complicit here. A person died, a person was murdered. Okay, we all knew about it, we all planned it, we were all involved in getting it done. So let's, let's hop that hurdle first. Okay, let's man up to the fact that, damn it, this was a pretty heinous crime. We all had something to do with it. Now we got to deal with what will happen to us from that. Okay, yeah.

Speaker 4:

Well, it was like the fact, like I know, I was scared because I had a gun, and I was scared, you know what? Stop it, stop it, stop it, stop it.

Speaker 7:

Do you think we haven't been listening to everything you guys have been saying in here? Are you that stupid or what I know? And just stop, because I don't. I don't. Even my line to me just makes me just hate it. I don't want to lie. Oh yeah you will. You'll lie to about a few things, but anyway, that's what's going to happen. Um, it is one step at a time. Remember to breathe. That's how we get through stuff like this. Okay, but you know what I will say you, sir, I have a lot of admiration for, because at least you just told the truth.

Speaker 3:

What? How Is Roach good, and I mean it yes yes, he admitted his part.

Speaker 7:

He will be booked also.

Speaker 3:

All right, we're all in for murder. I like what.

Speaker 2:

You say why did you lie?

Speaker 3:

This is our life now. Oh my God man, we didn't do anything with the body or anything like that. I get five years old with the f***ing 20, but I'm like you know and I'm gone. Joe, Joe's going to be so hard, he's not going to stay at all. This is all. Guys f***ing like like this, all I'm so scared I'm going to get my ass beaten in there. I think I f***ing I'm going to be like that with a fresh little meat.

Speaker 3:

I'm going to be the smallest like a person in there. Oh, don't waste this. Oh, you guys are going into the now thing. You see, the f***ing juvenile. The juvenile is f***ing crazy. The jail is full of old people now. Now, the juvenile is all these f***ing scary and scary.

Speaker 6:

Where's Grant? Yeah, I know that.

Speaker 3:

And Mike's f***ing ready while we're all handling the poor. Which one is that?

Speaker 8:

That's not him. They're really killing my wrist. I got a hole in that hand and, as you can tell, I'm a tech group from American Energy. Okay, I think you know why I'm here to talk to you. Okay, before we talk or anything, I have to advise you. If you're right, you understand that. You understand each of these rights I have explained to you. Yes, sir, having these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to? It? Says us here, but I'm saying me. Do you wish to talk to me now?

Speaker 6:

I like being on phone call because I need to call my lawyer you want to talk to a lawyer.

Speaker 8:

I mean I'll talk to you, but I don't want to know that. Hold on a second. Okay, you just said you want to talk to a lawyer. Did you want I talked to a lawyer or do you want to talk to me? I want to clarify that first.

Speaker 1:

I'll talk to a lawyer. Okay, even the lawyer for one of the suspects called the killing pretty damn depraved. Seth Jackson was hit in the head and shot, but he still tried desperately to flee the home in Summerfield where the attack occurred. Police said he was shot again and his body was placed in a bathtub where his knees were broken so his body would fit in a sleeping bag. He was still alive, so he was shot again and then his body was burned in a backyard fire pit. According to arrest documents, his ashes were shoveled into paint containers.

Speaker 1:

There was trial after trial as Seth's devastated family fought for justice. Amber's step-brother, kyle Hooper, was sentenced to life in prison without parole. So was Justin Soto. Charlie Healy, who lived at the crime scene, was also given life. At her trial she insisted that Michael had threatened her and she'd only gone along with it out of fear. Seth's mother, sonia, dismissed her crocodile tears. Some say your life is over, she said. But you will still see and talk to your family. You will still get letters and birthday cards. You will still laugh and cry. I have no sympathy for the tears you shed. They have not been for Seth, but rather for what's happened to you.

Speaker 1:

The trial of Michael Bargo, now 23, made the biggest headlines as he became the youngest person on Florida's death row. May God have mercy on my soul, he said as he was given the death penalty. Michael had used his right to remain silent throughout his case, but did protest his innocence, saying he'd arrived after Seth had been killed. His defense tried to blame his behavior on his parents' messy divorce and even a blow to the head as a child. It didn't work. The judge said it was the most cold, calculated and premeditated case of murder I have ever seen. When it came to Amber's conviction, it was more complicated. In her first trial in 2012, she claimed she didn't know the violence would lead to Seth's death, which the jury dismissed, and she was given a life sentence. But it was overturned on a technicality because she wasn't read her legal rights correctly at the time of her arrest.

Speaker 1:

Amber was back in court For a second time. She was found guilty of first-degree murder, even though she hadn't pulled the trigger. Many saw Amber as the catalyst for the killing. The prosecution said the defendant probably played the most important role in that murder. She was the bait. Her job was to lure Seth Jackson to the house. The judge was deeply shaken by the crime. I have not seen or heard anything more despicable than what led to Seth's death. He said Thank you again for joining me on this episode of Human Wreckage. Hope you join me next time. See you soon. Please take care of yourselves everyone.
